Reviews from Tour Alumi
Straight-forward and unbiased reviews from people who have explored Europe with me.

By far our favorite destination was the Tuscany region, with Volterra being our favorite town.  Annie (the guide in Volterra) and Ristorante Del Duca were our WOW moments.  Our cooking experience in Volterra was one of our favorite memories. Venice was a close second for the best experience.  In Venice we like staying on the Lido, away from the major tourist areas.  We loved the Lido neighborhood and being able to walk around and explore.  Our two favorite hotels were Hotel Rigel in Venice and Hotel Euturia in Volterra - they were really charming and the people running them equally so.

David's current tour offerings

When it comes to showing people around my favorite places in Europe, no one can do it better. This is not to say that I know Europe better than anyone else, it's just that I know my tour destinations like a local.  Taking a tour with Exploring Europe is a guaranteed success because we know the destinations, the hotels, the restaurants, and the things to see and experience.  We won't waste your time sitting on a bus, wandering through tacky tourist's shops, or waiting around for something to happen.  Instead you can expect a well thought-out and pre-planned tour experience designed to enhance and maximize your travel experience.  When traveling with me, you'll experience Europe from an insider's perspective... not simply as a sightseer watching Europe pass through the window of a tour bus.

StrasbourgChristmas Traditions in France
December 18 - 24, 2010

Christmas Markets (Marché Nöel) are like traditional market days pumped up with Christmas spirit and cheer.  These markets are popular in many French towns but none can compare to the beauty, variety and seasonal ambience of those in Paris and Strasbourg.  Here you’ll find everything from nifty French Christmas decorations, beautiful handcrafted arts and endless opportunities to feast on unique French food.  All this combined with chilly weather, Christmas carolers, millions of lights and festive decorations tend to supercharge the tradional travel experience.

Airfare is not included. This is a small group tour of up to 15 travelers.

Rome is the major Italian city to visit during the Christmas holiday season, especially because it is the location where the celebration of Christmas originated. The first Christmas Mass occured in Rome at the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore. and the earliest known permanent nativity was created for the Rome Jubilee in 1300. From a spectators point of view, perhaps the most wonderful sights are the 100+ presepi, or Nativity displays, located throughout the city.

The wintertime landscape surrounding Florence is one of dramatic beauty, when snow can dust the surrounding hills, or even on occasion the city center. Bundled up, families will enjoy strolling through the streets surrounding Piazza della Repubblica and Piazza della Signoria to admire the elegantly decorated storefronts and displays of holiday sweets in the windows of bakeries and cafes.

Airfare is not included. This is a small group tour of up to 15 travelers.
