Tour Itinerary

Tuesday, July 1, 2014:  Overnight Flight to Ireland

Join your group at the Orlando  International Airport for your flight to Dublin.  Late afternoon flight to Ireland with dinner and breakfast enroute.

Wednesday, July 2: Welcome to Dublin

Join your Irish driver and guide for a scenic bus tour of Dublin City. Then we will take a short excursion to Howth, a tiny seaside town on Dublin Bay where you’ll enjoy a traditional pub meal.  We’ll return to Dublin and check in to the hotel where you’ll have the remainder of the afternoon to relax.  Enjoy a relaxing evening and dinner on your own. Sleep 2 nights in Dublin.

 Thursday, July 3: Dublin

After breakfast, enjoy a tour of Trinity College followed by a look at the “illuminated” Book of Kells.  You’ll have the remainder of the day and evening to experience more of Dublin on your own.  We will meet tonight for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants.

Friday, July 4:  To the West Coast & County Clare

After breakfast, we will head across the island to the rugged west coast and historic County Clare.  Our destination is the awe-inspiring Cliffs of Moher, where the green meadows plummet 700 feet into the North Atlantic. You will have several hours here at the Cliffs of Moher to experience the nature and beauty of Ireland. Tonight, we will set up in the little village of Lahinch, famous for golf and vacationing.  Enjoy an Irish feast tonight at our hotel restaurant.  Sleep 1 night in Lahinch.

Saturday, July 5: County Clare to Kerry

Heading south through County Clare, we will cross the River Shannon by ferry and later, arrive on the Dingle Peninsula.  Here, experience some of Ireland’s wildest natural beauty and oldest pre-historic settlements on our driving tour of the Slea Head. Enjoy endless fields of “40 shades of green”, rock-crashing waves and all the sheep you’ll ever want to count. We will arrive in Dingle Town later this afternoon where you will have the remainder of the day and evening to shop, eat, drink, and experience traditional pub music on your own.  Sleep in Dingle for 1 night.

Sunday, July 6:  Dingle to Waterford & Kilkenny

Enjoy the beautiful Irish countryside and broad sweeping vistas of the coastal mountains on our trip to Waterford.  Upon arrival, enjoy a craftsman tour of the famous Waterford Crystal Experience and a little free time to explore the town.  Once in Kilkenny you will have the remainder of the afternoon to enjoy the town, castle, cathedral and shops. Finally, experience a tastebud tingling dinner at my favorite Italian restaurant this side of Tuscany.  Sleep 1 night in Kilkenny.

Monday, July 7: The Wicklow Mountains

Let’s leave the morning free for you to enjoy more of Kilkenny, the craft village, and castle.  Then we will head north to the remote Wicklow Mountains and a visit to Glendalough, an ancient monastic sight featuring round stone towers and churches dating from the middle ages. Enjoy a peaceful walk along the lakes and through the forest while learning about the monastery and its role in history. Then, we will return to Dublin, staying at a hotel near the airport. We will cap off the tour with a dinner toasting the good times exploring Ireland.   Sleep 1 night near Dublin Airport.

Slea Head is the most western part of Ireland and offers some of the most breathtaking views in the country. Time and time again travelers have told me it is a view that simply cannot be captured in a photo or video. The coast is spotted with beaches, historic famine houses, fields of “forty shades of green” and all the sheep you’ll ever want to count! The Blasket Islands,  off the coast, have a rich and unique history. Its inhabitants, who evacuated the islands in 1953, were previously isolated  from mainstream society for hundreds of years. The view is beautiful, the history rich. Your Adventure Starts Here!
