Meet your group at the airport for your overnight flight to London, England.
After airport arrival formalities, start your adventure by heading directly into the countryside visiting the lush green hills of the Salisbury Plain, Salisbury Cathedral, and Stonehenge. Later, settle in for the evening near Bath and enjoy a fine dining experience together. Sleep 1 night near Bath. Dinner.
After a hearty breakfast, we will strike out for a full day excursion to Bath, famous first as a Roman town featuring a forum and public baths. By the 18th century it was a regal Georgian-era vacation spot for the nobility. You will have an audio-guided visit to the well-preserved Roman Baths and enjoy the remainder of the afternoon own your own to experience more of this delightful city. Later, we will travel to our London hotel for dinner. Sleep in London for 5 nights. Dinner.
We’ll begin exploring London with an introduction to its Underground/Tube system followed by a double-decker bus orientation tour of London’s most famous sights. After lunch, join a Yeoman Warden “Beefeater” for a tour of the Tower of London and a look at England’s Crown Jewels. Then, it’s all aboard for a sightseeing tour on the River Thames ending in Westminster. We’ll take a stroll through Parliament Square, past Big Ben, the Horse Guards, 10 Downing Street, ending in Trafalgar Square. Then, enjoy some free time to explore more of Westminster and London on your own.
Take advantage of your hop-on-hop-off tour bus pass to expand your sightseeing throughout London. Later, join the Spruce Creek Band and Color Guard for a performance followed by the afternoon and evening in London with your friends and family. This might be a perfect opportunity for evening theater by pre-booking from home or picking up a ticket in London.
Today, we’ll get out of the city and have a few hours to connect with the Spruce Creek students, if you choose. In Greenwich, explore this charming town located on the “Prime Meridian”. Later, we will walk under the river, in a tunnel built in the 1800’s to the chic upscale area known as the Docklands for a look at what is becoming the “Manhattan” of London. Enjoy dinner on your own before heading back to our hotel.
This morning, we will try to catch the “changing of the guards” at Buckingham Palace, weather and schedule permitting. Later, enjoy a self-guided visit to the treasure-packed British Museum. Armed with David’s printed museum guide, get up close and personal with the Elgin marbles, Rosetta stone, mummies and more. We will cap off our tour experience with a farewell group dinner. Dinner.
Your tour ends today. Enjoy your homeward journey and cherish the memories made on your tour to England!
