It is about a four hour drive to Paris, and we’ll get an early start to make the most of the day. The Latin Quarter and Notre Dame Cathedral top the list for our touring this afternoon. Today is “Good Friday,” a very special day in Paris. The cathedral’s most cherished relic, Jesus’ Crown of Thorns, is placed on display in Notre Dame Catherdral. Enjoy a fantastic meal and a scenic cruise along the Seine River to top off your first day in Paris. Sleep in Paris 3 nights.
This morning, visit the Louvre Museum for a look at what some consider to be the world’s best collection of art. After lunch, enjoy a stroll up the famous Champs Élysées for some chic shopping. Then, enjoy a culinary feast at a sunset picnic under the Eiffel Tower on the famous Champs du Mars followed by a trip up the Eiffel Tower.
We will leave the morning open for several options. Some may wish to attend Easter Mass, others might enjoy a “brunch” at a local café. Then again, why not sleep in a bit! In the afternoon, visit the “bohemian” village of Montmartre for a look at Paris and the traditions of vagabond artists’ and musicians in the early 1900’s. Later, enjoy a grand Parisian dinner to cap off your Panther Chorus and Band tour experience.
Travel to Charles DeGaulle International Airport for your flight back to the USA. Arrive home late Monday evening.
Visiting the Louvre Museum can wear out even the most avid art lover. The museum and former palace covers almost 100 acres of prime Paris landscape and contains 35,000 objects d’art. Without a plan, one could wander in search of the top twenty “must-see” pieces for hours on end.
I can help! It makes sense to plan your visit to a museum with as much thought as goes into planning your entire trip. Download my FREE “Best of the Louvre” Walking Tour and Guide and see all the “biggies” with ease.
